Norwegian wunderkind Sondre Lerche, who burst onto the music scene in 2002 with his "Faces Down" album, has a new album out on February 6th and something of a new sound, too. While he can hardly help writing great hooks and irresistible melodies, the new album, called "Phantom Punch," does indeed pack a somewhat stronger punch. He has said influences run from Beck to Bacharach, all the way back to Cole Porter -- but there's not much Porter on this one. Amped up, yet unmistakably Sondre Lerche -- it could be his best shot yet at the big-time. You can hear the title cut here. And look for touring news soon.
