It sounds like the ultimate Hugh Grant movie premise: hapless virgin Brit, comes to the U.S., wins a trivia contest in which the first prize is to have sex with a sex columnist and somehow parlays that into a gig at Nerve, writing about -- you guessed it -- sex, in a column called I Did It for Science. Except he's not cloistered away answering reader's questions, he's off on a series of outrageous sexual escapades. That leads, of course, to a book about his experiences, then a movie option. Yup, it happened to the immensely appealing Grant Stoddard, whose bashfulness and stick-to-itiveness, makes for a delightful, extremely funny read. The book is called Working Stiff -- The Misadventures of an Accidental Sexpert. You can read an excerpt (sexcerpt?) here. The book's been optioned by Paramount Vantage. No word yet on who will play Stoddard.
