Arthur Phillips' new novel Angelica is in fact set in that time and place, a Victorian ghost story about a family in some serious distress.

Phillips, whose previous books were Prague and The Egyptologist, uses a Rashomon approach, offering different perspectives to retell the same story. Kirkus calls it "A symphony of psychological complexity and misdirection."

Angelica is out April 3. Catch Mr. Phillips (who, incidentally, is also a five-time Jeopardy champ) on a multi-city book tour starting April 11.
