Singer-songwriter (and ex-model) Carla Bruni -- who made big ripples with her folky-sweet 2002 debut "Quelqu'un M'a Dit" -- returns with a follow-up in English called "No Promises" that puts poetry by the likes of Emily Dickinson, W.H. Auden, and Dorothy Parker to music. The album is available as an import (U.S. release date not yet set), but tracks can be sampled from Bruni's website.
Best tracks: "Those Dancing Days Are Gone," and "Ballade at Thirty-Five"
