Fresh, sophisticated, and relaxed is a tough combo to pull off as a clothing designer. But that's exactly what has made the Geren Ford line a hit since its launch in 2002.
Its designer, Geren Lockhart, studied at Parsons and Otis before a 12-year youthful indiscretion in advertising. Clearly, she belongs in fashion.
Ford says that inspiration comes from her travels and it shows in the kimono tops and dresses that are especially popular. You get the travel vibe, too, from the many casually chic designs that look tailor-made for a stroll through Rome's Piazza Navona or the Rue Mouffetard market in Paris.
The brilliant part is that they'll look equally good running errands back home.
