Arriving at the end of this month, a Judi Dench bonanza.
A new DVD, called "The Judi Dench Collection," gathers together 10 BBC productions in which the divine Dench has starred over a period of 40 years.
If you're interested in this DVD, we don't need to tell you what an extraordinary actress she is. But what amazing company she has kept! Among the jewels, you can watch her in Ibsen's "Ghosts" with Michael Gambon, Natasha Richardson, and Kenneth Branagh. And there's the 1962 production of "The Cherry Orchard" with John Gielgud and Peggy Ashcroft.
The eight-disc set includes interviews, radio plays, and Dench's version of "Send in the Clowns" from the 1995 National Theatre revival of "A Little Night Music" for which she won an Olivier as Best Actress in a Musical. (You can watch her perform it at a tribute concert for producer Cameron Mackintosh here.)
Just more proof, if any were needed, that she can do anything. Brilliantly.
