A major exhibition of Van Gogh's work arrives in New York City at the Neue Galerie on March 22, presented in conjunction with Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum.
"Van Gogh and Expressionism" is the first show to deal in depth with the influence that Van Gogh had on German and Austrian Expressionists, who rediscovered his paintings after his death in 1890.
There will be over 80 works, including major canvases by Van Gogh, as well as significant ones by Klimt, Otto Dix, and Egon Schiele. It should be fascinating viewing, a fresh way of looking at familiar, and much-loved, works.
