Opening today at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., a tribute to graphic artist Saul Steinberg called "Illuminations."
Steinberg is best known for his New Yorker covers (particularly A View of the World from Ninth Avenue) and the exhibit includes over 100 drawings, collages, and rarely seen works from the 1930s to the 1990s.
The show, a hit when it was at the Morgan Library in New York, stays in D.C. until the end of June. From there, it will move to the Cincinnati Art Museum until late September and then goes to the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College, which organized the exhibit.
If you can't get to see it, you can pick up a copy of the book by Joel Smith.
