Carolien Vlieger and Hein van Dam of Vlieger and Vandam are two Rotterdam fashion accessories designers who are "inspired by the six o'clock news" and "urban landscapes."
Their Guardian Angel series of bags features extruded sections in the shape of a gun or a knife. It is certainly a statement, though exactly what that statement is may be open to interpretation.
Less provocatively, Not a Laptop uses a similar sculptural idea on the side of the bag -- this time featuring produce and a carton of milk. Of course, the punchline is that it is, in fact, designed to be used for laptops. They also have a Dachshund bag in the shape of the dog that has a silk-screened X-ray of the pooch on one side.
