We used to worry about Cheryl Wheeler.
The extraordinarily gifted folkish-ish/country-ish earth mama singer-songwriter can pen tune after tune that will tear your heart out. Those who've seen her perform live know she's an absolute hoot, too. Which was the real Cheryl Wheeler?
We worried that the heart-achin' Cheryl of "Who Are You Foolin'" and "Sylvia Hotel" and "But the Days and Nights Are Long" and "Since You've Been Gone" might be the real one. Her intimate, confessional style encourages this kind of admittedly one-way connection.
Then we read that Cheryl, who lives in Massachusetts, had married her partner Cathleen and that eased our minds, because, as silly as this may sound, to know her music is to love her.
Here's her touring schedule -- if you can catch a show, by all means do.
