Movies don't come much more painful than Deliver Us From Evil and documentaries don't come much better.
The film tells the appalling story of Father Oliver O'Grady, who abused dozens of children in Northern California over 30 years. It is also the story of the victims and their families -- pain that at times is excruciating to watch. And it's the story of the Catholic Church and its grotesque abdication of responsibility.
Directed by Amy Berg, the movie was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary. It's out on DVD on May 8.
