For those of you who have ever called a packed-like-sardines plane flight a 'bus with wings,' the new airline Skybus might agree with you. Their fares give Greyhound a run for the money.
They can offer the low fares because they use less congested hubs, the internet for all transactions, and offer nothing free on board -- you want a Coke? You pay for it. And they're based in Columbus, Ohio, so either you want to go to Columbus or you're going to fly there and change planes.
With a little work, though, you can do very well: book well ahead and a flight from, say, Seattle/Vancouver (Bellingham) to Columbus could be as low $50. Columbus to Boston (Portsmouth, NH, actually) another $30. And they have 10 seats on each flight for $10. Just remember to BYO Coke.
