Art lovers know that summertime is the off season. Galleries, if they're open at all, may have a group show -- but as a time to see art, the heat is off.
That's why Art Santa Fe should be on your radar if you're a) an art lover and b) anywhere in the neighborhood. Dozens of galleries from all over the world will show work from their artists with styles running the gamut. It makes for excellent browsing.
The keynote lecture is of particular interest: Thomas Krens, the director of the Guggenheim Foundation, will talk about Bilbao. Its architect, Frank Gehry, will be on hand. The show runs from July 12-15.
