stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

A compact can be an agreement or a small case containing powder, not usually both. But the limited edition Coral Compact by Jay Strongwater for Chantecaille is just that.

The small case contains Vitamin-C infused powder that applies with a non-powdery finish. The case itself was designed by Mr. Strongwater featuring a hand-lacquered relief of coral.

The agreement is a promise to future generations to be good stewards of the environment for them. To that end, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these compacts goes to Reefs of Hope, a project to help preserve coral reefs against the effects of global warming.

I like the story but I don't like that the compact costs $420. Why are things like this always reserved for the rich?
