stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

Call it T-shirt Idol. In a sea of websites peddling not-so-unique T-shirt designs, Threadless Tees takes simple commerce one step further -- specifically, to the people.

The Chicago-based e-tailer invites designers to send in their tee concepts, posts them on the site and asks would-be shoppers to score their favorites. Winning designs (which run the gamut from quirky-cool to faux-retro to high-concept) then become available for purchase, and the artists receive a cash prize, among other perks.

Our favorite part (aside from the good vibes we get from buoying emerging designers, and the $20 price tag on most items) is the 12 Club: Join their tee-of-the-month scheme and Threadless will mail you exclusive designs each month for a year at a discount, along with gift certificates redeemable towards more jersey goodness.

You have no excuse to wear a Vote For Pedro T-shirt ever again.

Thanks for bringing this to light. Now there's simply no excuse for not getting stuff off your chest, and onto someone else's.

The Tee shirts are great, and I hate to be a feminist shrew, but why are the women's Tees all $2 more than the men's? I won't buy the ones I like for that very reason. Sorry.

The women's shirts at Threadless are $2 dollars more because they are printed on American Apparel, while the men's shirts are printed on Fruit of the Loom. No great conspiracy I'm afraid...
