Last week, the Royal Institute of British Architects announced their nominees for this year's Stirling Prize, honoring the best in contemporary architecture.
For design buffs, it's interesting to browse through the works -- they're all in the U.K. or continental Europe, so they may not be familiar to you. The nominees are:
America's Cup Building in Valencia, Spain
Casa da Musica in Porto, Portugal,
Dresden Station Redevelopment, Dresden, Germany
Museum of Modern Literature in Marbach, Germany
The Savill Building in Windsor Park, U.K.
Young Vic in London
We think they're all worthy contenders, but we're particularly taken with the Rem Koolhaas design for the Music Hall in Portugal. You can take a virtual tour of its spaces here.
The winner will be announced October 6th.
