This one's for the birds. Well, okay, the birds may not care about the design of a birdhouse you set out for them -- they're just grateful for the chow. You, however, may be interested to see the creative thinking from some smart designers that's gone into the humble bird feeder.
The results are on display in The Modern Bird, an exhibition at Design Commission in Seattle. Some of the striking contributions come from the mid-century modern teak waystations by Modern Birdhouses, shiny, egg-shaped ones from J Schatz, and stainless steel designs by Tom Dukich that were inspired by the Guggenheim Bilbao.
