Wallpaper* founder Tyler Brûlé is the man behind asterisk-free Monocle, a monthly publication covering a broad swathe of subjects: global affairs, business, culture, and design.
It's an interesting publication, well worth a look (a portion of the material is available online). But we especially wanted to call your attention to one of their articles titled "City Slickers."
For anyone interested in design, particularly urban design and city life, it's a rewarding short presentation. Monocle selects 25 elements of various cities around the globe that make them especially livable -- everything from bike lockers in Chicago to a perfect park in Stockholm to illuminated building numbers in Berlin.
It's a reminder that while grand projects can transform a city, it's the details that, day in and day out, can make it a great place to live.
