stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

As elevator pitches go, this could rank near the bottom: magazine...meat...metaphors. You know, like meat, only art.

Well, see for yourself: Meatpaper is that very thing; debuting next month, it's four issues a year of meat from every angle.

Behind the enterprise are Sasha Wizansky, a visual artist and graphic designer and Amy Standen, a reporter for KQED public radio's science and environment program. As the editors write, "Meat polarizes us unlike any other food; it's the Hillary Clinton of the freezer aisle."

So, yes, it's one of the crazier ideas we've heard lately. And yes, we're all set to dig in. It's $28 for a subscription.
