Singer-songwriter Nina Nastasia has a stripped-down, moody approach to music that we find mesmerizing even when it's not raining outside (though that helps).
Her just-released album, "You Follow Me," is performed with Jim White, the drummer of Australian band Dirty Three. The instrumentation consists of drums, guitar, and vocals. And those vocals are endlessly expressive -- Nastasia's haunting voice has an uncannily fluid tonal range. But whatever's she singing about, she has an even more uncanny ability to make you believe it.
