All hail Rotterdam!
Rotterdam?
Well, yeah. The city has decided to have 2007 City of Architecture as a subtitle this year, but it's been an architectural leader for some time now. In 2005, the NY Times wrote, "Rotterdam is increasingly to architecture what Paris is to fashion or Los Angeles is to entertainment."
Continuing through the rest of the year are a variety of programs, special events, and exhibitions celebrating everything from the Erasmus Bridge to KPN Tower by Renzo Piano, Piet Blom's cube homes, and the much-cooler-than-it-sounds Shipping and Transport College.
