We partial to threes here at getTRIO, but that's not the only thing that attracts us to The Nines, a movie made up of three short films (you'll have to see it to understand how the number nine fits in).
It's directed by John August, who has written three Tim Burton features, and it has some of Burton's sense of adventure. In the mix are a television star, reality TV, and the role of media. There's a fun, interesting narrative, and also a meta-narrative -- that will make at least some sense at the end of the movie.
But if nothing else, The Nines will make you think long after the final credits. And these days, that's reason enough to celebrate.
