stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

Meet the curious, enigmatic line of T-shirts designed by Trong G. Nguyen. One shirt simply reads 1874-1926. Others read 1935-1977, 0-33 and 1980-1989.

Give up? The shirts mark the birth and death of significant figures, events or eras in history (the above pay tribute to Harry Houdini, Elvis, Jesus and the eighties, respectively). Nguyen created the line for his art project-collective Humanitarians Not Heroes, layering the concepts of accomplishment and historical stature over a sly comment on mortality.

Brooklyn, NY-based shop owner Jen Argenta loved the shirts and snapped up the entire print run, now sold exclusively through her Brooklyn, NY store Watts on Smith. Nowhere on each shirt is the name or event revealed, so once you snip off the tag, only you'll know what those numbers mean.
