One for the mothership this morning. And one that should be a lot of fun for this TV season. One thing's for sure: there's never been anything quite like it.
Over on our sister site Television Without Pity, they've launched TVBigshot, an interactive game for television junkies that works like this: sign up, get $300 million in virtual money to create your own fantasy network. That makes you the network exec you always secretly wanted to be. And as a newly-minted mover and shaker, you get to buy and sell shows for your own network lineup.
But here's the twist: at the end of this 2007-2008 season, the player with the most points, based on actual ratings for the programs in his or her lineup, factoring in ratings growth and buzz (press coverage and awards), gets a non-virtual, totally real $100,000 grand prize. This is one we can't play (silly old conflict rules) but wish we could.
