We call your attention to the Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, taking place this coming weekend, for a couple of reasons.
The first is that it's a good place to catch a rising fashion designer before their clothes jump to the unaffordable racks of the swankiest emporiums. At the same time, you'll get a sense of some of the styles and trends that may make their way, in the next season or two, to a catwalk near you.
The other reason is that it allows you to catch up with Malan Breton from "Project Runway," surely one of the most eccentric reality show contestants in the oeuvre (and, in the end, one of the most surprisingly sympathetic). He'll be showing a women's collection on Friday evening.
Note that the event is free, but you have to reserve.
