Ricky Gervais' followup to "The Office" is the comedy Extras, about a hapless fellow (Gervais, of course) who takes extra work while trying to break through as a full-fledged actor. Gervais won an Emmy this year for his performance.

Part of the fun of the show has been the parade of guest stars, who have played variations on their public persona to priceless effect. Among the most notable: David Bowie, Orlando Bloom, Sir Ian McKellen, and Daniel Radcliffe. You can watch the first two seasons on DVD.

In December, the series will get a major send-off on HBO called "Extras: The Extra Special Series Finale." The first review we've seen of it says, "It's a stunningly great piece of work -- an emotional patchwork of dark, hilarious, moving, smart and dramatic moments."
