Shaffer Chimere Smith, better known as Ne-Yo, is poised to be a major powerhouse in the music world.
With Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder as touchstones, he released his first album last year on Def Jam, an instant hit. He's also written hits for others, including Mario's "Let Me Love You." And he released a second album in May called "Because of You."
Ne-Yo (the name was given to him by a producer and has no specific meaning) will be touring this month -- a good time to catch this rising star.
