stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

Those of you who are able to listen to music at your place of work, we wonder what you listen to. For us, the only music that seems to enhance work rather than distract us is classical.

That brings us to our favorite web radio station, Play Classical UK, which plays an appealing lineup of classical pieces, just as you'd expect. The unexpected is this: the host is one "Mr. Lambourn," who is given to purple pronouncements about the power of music. He also chats in that peculiarly British way of being both formal and warmly engaging, all the while claiming to be sipping tea on his veranda.

It's a put-on, but one that's just odd enough, and refreshing enough, to keep us tuned in.

Maybe its a put-on, but a delightful one, which makes every day more enjoyable for this gal in South Carolina. The man also has extraordinary taste in music. I overheat my computer daily listening and learning from "Mr. Lambourn". Thanks very much.

I just discovered it today and I only got captured by Mr.Lambourn, who adds to the music that you'll get elswhere, too, just what it needs to keep you pricking up your ears.

love the 'purple pronouncements'. as an orchestral and band conductor, and being steeped in classical music for over 40 years, i love the refreshment given from the everyday bombardment of hip-hop, pop and 'c'rap music. keep up the good work.
