stuff to buy stuff to do stuff to see

The Barbican Art Gallery in London has just opened a show with a lot of buzz called "Seduced: Art and Sex From Antiquity to Now" that will run until the end of January, 2008. More than 70 artists are represented by 300 works from over 2000 years. One paper headlined it "The Best Hung Show in London."

OK, snickers and puns aside, the exhibit features quite a lineup of art world notables: Rembrandt, Picasso, Klimt, Fragonard, Turner, Rodin, Warhol, Mapplethorpe -- all in the same sentence, all within the same four walls. The selections illustrate how sexuality has been depicted from the Greeks to today.

[Note that the Barbican's website was down as we went to publish.]
