This one's not fun, or particularly useful, but it does hold a certain morbid interest.
The Living Almanac of Disasters tracks, via a yearly calendar, what sort of mayhem was wrought on any given day. That includes fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, plane crashes, and train wrecks.
It doesn't seem to have been updated in quite a while (the September 11th entry only lists an Air France crash from 1968) -- which only makes us concerned about the site's creator. It certainly gets you thinking about bolts from out of the blue.
