Tacoma, Washington's five-year-old Museum of Glass is always up to something cool and interesting.
On now is an exhibition called "Mining Glass," a showcase of contemporary artists working in glass, including Maya Lin, Kiki Smith, and Jean-Michel Othoniel. You can try some virtual glassblowing at their Hot Shop. And over in their shop, we think the glass works for sale would make big-hit gifts, especially the glass birds by Finnish designer Oiva Toikka.
