We can't think of a great major actor who's been seen less than Daniel Day-Lewis. The good news is that he's starring in the new movie, There Will Be Blood, which could be the sub-title of Sweeney Todd, come to think of it. Instead, it's the new movie written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, based on an Upton Sinclair novel, about a turn-of-the-century oil man. It's opening in limited release right after Christmas and there's major buzz on this one.
And for more DD-L, one of our favorites -- and a movie guaranteed to make you cry more times than It's a Wonderful Life -- is My Left Foot. It's the true story of Christy Brown, afflicted with cerebral palsy from birth, based on his memoir Down All The Days. Brenda Fricker's performance as Christy's mother is also one for the ages.
