In spite of our cheerfully demented photo editor's selections for getTRIO today (a squirrel, a child covered in finger paint, and an overflowing garbage can), the articles are actually about a showcase for emerging designers, 30,000 years of art, and gifts created from recycled or repurposed items. No squirrels are actually involved.
Down to business: The Shiny Squirrel is the quirky name for an equally quirky site featuring clothing, accessories, and jewelry by upcoming designers, as well as artwork. There's a stylish Smocked Jacket by Figmint Clothing, Wooden Card Sculptures by Francesca Iannaccone, Ceramic Tableware by Katie Parker, and a cluster of screen-printed and hand-painted Penguins by Shawn Creeden. No doubt you'll like some pieces better than others, but part of the fun is browsing through the digital racks for something to surprise you.
