It's hard to restrain the oohs and aahs when you see photographs by Pete Turner. The boldly-colored geometry of his images never fails to captivate us, whether he's shooting pieces of Americana, volcanoes, or jazz notables. Many of Turner's works have been used as memorable album covers for seminal jazz artists, including John Coltrane, Stan Getz, and Bill Evans.
But even if you’re not into jazz, his work is likely to stay with you. One image, Times Square after a snowstorm, captures a particular feeling of New York we've hardly ever seen caught. It's a miraculously quiet moment -- a softened environment in which you can almost breathe in the frosty air.
