Russell Banks, author of Rule of the Bone, Cloudsplitter, The Sweet Hereafter, and Affliction, has a new book out January 29 called The Reserve.
It's both a murder mystery and a love story, set in the Adirondacks in 1936. One night in summer, the father of a well-to-do family, vacationing at their retreat, dies. That sets in motion a series of events principally involving his daughter and an artist.
As always with Banks, you'll have a tough time putting the book down.
